At CFCU Community Credit Union, we want to make your transactions as easy and convenient as we can. We offer a wide variety of financial products to help you get the service and information you need quickly and efficiently.

Direct Deposit*
With direct deposit, you don't have to take time out from your busy schedule to deposit your check or conduct financial transactions. Just have your paycheck automatically deposited to CFCU. Your money can be automatically transferred or distributed into one or more accounts at your discretion. For example, you can have a portion of your check transferred into your checking account, savings accounts or make loan payments automatically. You won't spend one second in a teller line.

Setting up direct deposit
In most cases, setting up direct deposit requires your routing and account number. The routing number for CFCU is 221381540. To make special direct deposit arrangements with CFCU, check with your Human Resources or Payroll office to complete the proper forms. If you have further questions about direct deposit services, please call us or stop in at any of our locations.

Retirement checks, Social Security and Federally recurring payments can be direct deposited to CFCU. To get started, request a sign-up form at any branch location, or call our Member Services Department at 607-257-8500. Then contact your organization's payroll office to verify your request. Most employers already offer direct deposit. If they don't, we would be happy to discuss initiating such a program.

Automated Payroll Distribution*
Do you want to distribute your Directly Deposited Paycheck (ACH) to more than one CFCU account without having to go to your payroll office? You can set up an ACH Payroll Distribution by logging into CFCUanywhere. See below for details about CFCUanywhere.

Automatic Transfer*
Automatic transfer is another great way to save. Even a small amount put aside each payday can help you save for vacations, holidays, college, purchases or other expenses. You can also use automatic transfer to make loan payments. Simply log onto CFCUanywhere and take control of your finances.

Automatic Loan Payment
We can debit your account at another financial institution to make your loan payment! Simply fill out the form, print it, and return it to us via email or fax as indicated on the form. Completed forms may also be mailed to us or delivered to a branch. Learn more with our helpful FAQs!

Wire Transfers

CheckCard
A CFCU CheckCard works just like a check, but with the ease, speed and worldwide acceptability of MasterCard. Instead of writing a check, just present your CheckCard to pay for things anywhere MasterCard is accepted. The amount of your purchase is automatically deducted from your Share Draft Account and reported on your next monthly statement. It's a convenient, flexible and safe way to pay without time–consuming check writing or approvals. No worrying about running out of checks. About the CheckCard service fee
A minimal fee of $1 per month is charged to your Share Draft Account for purchases made through the MasterCard network the previous month. The fee will apply only if you use your CheckCard to make purchases at MasterCard locations. ATM transactions do not affect this fee.

That means it will cost you just $1 per month to take full advantage of all the speed and convenience of a CFCU CheckCard whether you use it once or 100 times in a month. As a Credit Union member, you know that one of our most important goals is to offer you the best value on the latest products and services.

ATMs
With your CFCU CheckCard you can use any of our convenient ATM locations throughout the Tompkins & Cortland counties. You can also visit the Allpoint Network for surcharge-free access to 55,000 ATMs worldwide. There is no per transaction charge or yearly fee for our CFCU proprietary ATM service. When accessing any non-CFCU NYCE or CIRRUS ATM with your card, there is a per transaction fee, please see our Account Fee Disclosure. In addition, the ATM proprietor may charge you an additional fee. Please Note: Some International ATMs only allow withdrawals from your primary savings 0. Prior to a trip, consider distributing your funds accordingly.

Overdraft Protection from Shares*
This service allows CFCU to transfer money from your Share (savings) Account to your Share Draft (checking) Account to cover any overdraft. This means if you inadvertently write a non-sufficient funds (NSF) check, the Credit Union will consult your Share Account and, if funds are available, transfer the necessary money for you automatically. You must have enough money in your designated Share Account to cover the overdrawn check plus a CFCU transfer fee. This coverage is designed for emergency purposes only and will prevent your being charged a NSF fee or fees charged by merchants for a bounced check. Text Balance Inquiries
Need quick access to your account balance? Text Balancing is for you! Simply text BAL to 42265 from your mobile phone. Within minutes, you’ll receive a return text message containing the account information you requested. It’s a fast, convenient and easy way to verify available funds!

Please Note: You are required to have a CFCU debit card to use this service.To register select “Begin the Registration process” on the right hand side of the page and complete the steps as prompted. The Credit Union’s name must be entered as “CFCU Community CU.” Standard text messaging rates apply.

MAXX (Phone Banking)

CFCU's MAXX (Phone Banking) lets you check the balance of your share, share draft or loan accounts; obtain a transaction history; determine if a specific check has cleared; request a savings withdrawal check; transfer funds and more...day or night...on holidays...over the weekend...seven days a week. With MAXX, you interact directly with the CFCU computer. All you need is a touch-tone telephone, your Credit Union account number, and special confidential access code. MAXX is free to CFCU members. There are no per transaction or access fees and there is even a toll-free number for members who live outside the Ithaca area. Night Depository
For your convenience, there are night depositories at CFCU's East Hill, Meadow Street, Triphammer, and Craft Road locations in Ithaca as well as Route 281 (Tops Plaza) and Port Watson Street in Cortland. You may make loan payments, deposits to Share or Share Draft Accounts, Club Accounts, or family member accounts.

*Regulation D impacts the number of transactions CFCU may allow on your share account. The Regulation was implemented by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, whose job is to ensure that financial institutions maintain adequate reserve for the funds they have on deposit.

Accordingly, you are permitted to make no more than six electronic or telephone transfers from shares per calendar month or statement cycle. This means that you are allowed only a total of six of the following types of transfers per month: (1) Automatic Overdraft Protection from shares (2) Teller telephone transfers or MAXX Phone Banking transfers from shares and (3) Pre-authorized transfers or telephone transfers to pay third parties (e.g., insurance companies, etc.) from share accounts. Therefore if you have reached your six-transfer limit, it is important to remember to keep enough funds in your Share Draft Account, as we cannot automatically transfer the amount you need from a deposit account and we will have to return the checks as "non-sufficient funds."
